NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 8 -- Cliff Ronning and Sergei Krivokrasov scored 20 seconds apart late in the third period Tuesday night as the Nashville Predators snapped a three-game losing streak by rallying for a 3-3 tie with the Edmonton Oilers. Ronning scored for the second time in as many games with 5:56 remaining as Nashville climbed within 3-2.
On the next shift, Greg Johnson centered from behind the net to Krivokrasov, who scored his team-leading 10th goal from the right faceoff circle. The Predators combined for only three goals during their losing streak but carried a 1-0 lead into the third period on Patrick Kjellberg's sixth of the season. Eric Fichaud and rookie Tomas Vokoun combined to make 26 saves over the first two periods for Nashville, which lost November 4 at Edmonton, 3-2. Acquired from the Oilers just before the season, Fichaud stopped 10 shots before aggravating a shoulder injury with 2:16 left in the opening period. Vokoun made 27 saves the rest of the way. Josef Beranek, Bill Guerin and Pat Falloon scored third-period goals for Edmonton, which is winless in its last three games (0-2-1).
