MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 1 -- Investigators say Minneapolis pharmacist Mark Steven Foster may have had a member of his voodoo cult kill him to provide $300,000 in insurance money for his family.
The body of the 45-year-old Foster was found along a rural Wisconsin road July 18. He had been shot in the chest. Investigators say they have found writings indicating Foster thought his death would transfer his 'powers' to the individual who killed him and also found evidence he was deeply in debt. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports today it obtained a document indicating Foster practiced Santeria, the 200-year-old voodoo religion of Cuba, and apparently was a high priest. ---
