Pasta can be deadly

BOSTON -- April 16, 1997 -- Swiss doctors say (Wednesday) a 17- year-old boy who died of liver failure was poisoned by bacteria lurking in reheated, four-day-old spaghetti with pesto sauce. The scientists say the study is the first to link the bacteria, a common cause of food poisoning, with such rapid deadly liver failure.
