Paul Revere ride bill sells for $29,900

NEW YORK, Sept. 26 -- The bill presented by Paul Revere for a ride to Portsmouth, N.H., in 1774 to warn the town of approaching British troops has been sold at auction (Thursday) for $29,900. The buyer was an anonymous bidder not immediately identified as being connected with some Portsmouth residents who had been collecting funds to buy the rare document for their community.
