Texas man found dismembered in Miss.

MOSS POINT, Miss. Aug. 16 -- Two men were being held in custody without bond Friday for shooting and dismembering a Conroe, Texas, man and for the rape and torture of his girlfriend, police said. Authorities identified the victim as Jeffrey Lee Wolfe, 21, who left Texas with his girlfriend Sunday to visit friends in Mississippi.

On Tuesday, the girlfriend woke up a woman in Moss Point, a small town outside Pascagoula near the Alabama border, and told her that she had escaped from a neighbor who had killed her boyfriend and raped and tortured her, police said. Arrest warrants were issued for Gary Carl Simmons, 33, and his brother-in-law, 19-year-old Timothy John Milano, both of Pascagoula. Milano was arrested at his apartment Tuesday, and Simmons turned himself in on Wednesday. Both were charged with murder, rape and kidnapping. A preliminary hearing was slated for Aug. 23, police said. Police said they found most of Wolfe's dismembered body in Simmons' yard and in a bayou behind his house. Investigators also found an ax and a knife believed used in the crime. The victim's father, Paskiel Wolfe of Conroe, some 30 miles south of Houston, said his son knew Milano but it is unclear if he knew Simmons. Jeffrey Wolfe introduced his girlfriend of three days to his father on Saturday and the pair left for Mississippi the next day, Paskiel Wolfe said.
