Heat's Danilovic to miss 3-4 months

MIAMI, Jan. 2 -- Miami Heat rookie guard Sasha Danilovic Tuesday underwent successful surgery on his injured right wrist and will be sidelined three-to-four months. The surgery to repair a non-union scaphoid bone was performed by Dr. Ann Ouelette, chief of hand surgery at the University of Miami Medical School, at Health South Miami Hospital.

It is estimated that Danilovic will be in a cast two-to-three months and will be out of action three-to-four months. He had been going through a series of rehabilitation attempts to correct the chronic condition, but those efforts were unsuccessful. Danilovic has not played since sustaining the wrist injury during Miami's 105-80 loss at Golden State Dec. 12, and had been on the injured list since Dec. 19. Danilovic, a native of Serbia, played in 18 games for the Heat and averaged 13.7 points. He was acquired by Miami along with forward Billy Owens from Golden State in exchange for center Rony Seikaly in November of 1994.
