LONGMONT, Colo., Oct. 6 -- A Colorado man remained in jail Friday after his girlfriend accused him of beating her up after they disagreed about O.J. Simpson's acquittal. Police said Harlan Malone Woods, who is black, told his white girlfriend that Simpson had been wrongly accused and that Nicole Brown Simpson got what she deserved, adding that she too might get what she deserves.

'They had been watching the O.J. verdict and had been discussing that, and they got into an argument,' said Longmont, Colo. officer Randy Kinsey. The woman was treated at a local hospital for bruises sustained in the beating. Woods, 26, was charged with third degree assault, false imprisonment, harassment and negligent child abuse. He was held at the Boulder County Jail in lieu of $8,000 bond. The child abuse charge was filed because the couple's children were at home while the beatings took place, police said. Kinsey said the woman ran from her apartment, but Woods chased after her, grabbed her and bit her on the shoulder before dragging her back inside. He repeatedly woke her up and hit her throughout the night, police said.
