Anderson faces knee surgery

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 13 -- Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Flipper Anderson will have surgery on his injured left knee in seven to 10 days, at which time he will find out if he is lost for the season.

Anderson had an MRI on the injured knee Tuesday and it revealed tears in the medial colateral and posterior cruciate ligaments. Anderson's rehabilitation schedule will be determined after the surgery, but original fears are that he will not play again this year. Anderson, who is in his first season with the Colts, was injured in the second quarter of Indianapolis' 27-24 overtime victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. He had a pair of receptions for 44 yards before getting injured.
