HOUSTON, Feb. 2 -- The Houston Rockets placed forward Carl Herrera on the injured list Thursday with a hamstring injury and signed veteran forward Chucky Brown to a 10-day contract. Herrera suffered the injury in Tuesday night's 86-74 win over the Denver Nuggets.
He is expected to be activated by Feb. 14, when the Rockets host the Los Angeles Clippers. Brown, 6-foot-8 and 215 pounds, spent four years in the NBA with Cleveland, the Los Angeles Lakers, New Jersey and Dallas before signing with the CBA's Yakima Sun Kings this season. He was selected as a starter to the 1995 CBA All-Star Game after posting a 21.3 scoring average with the Sun Kings. Brown, who starred at North Carolina State, has scored in double figures in all 31 games this season for Yakima. He spent the preseason with the Miami Heat, but was released.
