Mavs send Rooks to T-Wolves

DALLAS, Nov. 1 -- The Dallas Mavericks today traded center Sean Rooks to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday for a first-round draft pick in either 1996, 1997 or 1998.

Rooks, a second-round pick in the 1992 draft out of Arizona, averaged 11.4 points and 5.5 rebounds in 47 games for the Mavericks last season. If Minnesota's 1996 choice is a lottery pick, Dallas will receive the 1997 pick. If the 1997 pick is between Nos. 1 and 6 in the draft, Dallas will receive the pick in 1998 unconditionally.
