EAST LANSING, Mich., Oct. 15 -- Eddie George scampered for 219 yards and a touchdown Saturday, leading No. 22 Ohio State to a 23-7 Big Ten victory over Michigan State. George's rushing total was the seventh-best in Ohio State history, becoming the first player in school history to rush for 200 yards twice in the same season.

His 76-yard touchdown run on the third play of the third quarter gave Ohio State (5-2, 2-1 Big Ten) a 10-7 advantage. Quarterback Bobby Hoying completed 9 of 19 passes for 99 yards and rushed for a fourth-quarter touchdown. Michigan State (2-4, 1-2 Big Ten) opened a 7-0 lead when Duane Goulbourne ran for a touchdown just over 10 minutes into the game. But the Spartans were held to minus-10 yards rushing in second half. The Buckeyes have won six of the last seven games played between the teams at Spartan Stadium.
