Priest reported freed by extremists

MANILA, July 26 -- A rebel spokesman says (Tuesday) a Roman Catholic priest who was held hostage by Islamic extremists for 48 days has been handed over to a mainstream Muslim rebel group that has been working with the government for the cleric's release. Fr. Cirilo Nacorda, who was kidnapped by the shadowy Abu Sayaf June 8, is expected to be freed in a few days.
