Bulls' Grant hints at leaving the Bulls

CHICAGO, April 18 -- Chicago Bulls All-Star forward Horace Grant, who is eligible for unrestricted free agency at the end of the season, reaffirmed he plans to leave the Bulls and hinted at possibly signing with the Orlando Magic.

In a taped interview with NBC basketball analyst Peter Vecsey which was aired Sunday during the Magic-Bulls game, Grant made it clear that he was entertaining the notion of signing with the Magic after the current season.

'Right now in my mind I'm doing a puzzle,' Grant said. 'And one piece is missing from putting the whole city of Orlando together, and that's Horace Grant.

'If I'm not mistaken, Shaq (Orlando center Shaquille O'Neal) said publicly that 'we need a power forward like Horace Grant.' And he's the man down there. So talk to 'em Shaq.'

Grant has spent his entire seven-year career with Chicago, but became disenchanted when Bulls' management failed to offer him a long-term contract extension.

The 28-year-old Grant is averaging 15.2 points and 11.0 rebounds in 67 games for the Bulls this season.
