Jeffrey Dahmer's mother attempts suicide in California

FRESNO, Calif., March 31 -- Police said Thursday the mother of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer tried to commit suicide at her Fresno, Calif., home.

Sgt. Tim McFadden said Joyce Flint was found lying face down Tuesday in her kitchen after turning on her gas oven and leaving its door open.

Flint was incoherent but still breathing, and is recovering at Valley Medical Center in Fresno, McFadden said.

Police found a last will which had a handwritten note that said 'It's been a lonely life, especially today. Please cremate me.' The note also said, 'I love my sons, Jeff and David,' McFadden said.

Flint's will left all of her belongings to her son, David.

Jeffrey Dahmer was convicted of the gruesome killings and dismemberment of 17 young men and is serving 15 consecutive life sentences in a Wisconsin prison.
