Houston replaces Miner in slam dunk championship

NEW YORK -- Rookie Allan Houston of the Detroit Pistons will replace the injured Harold Miner of the Miami Heat in the Slam-Dunk Championship on NBA All-Star Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Miner, the 1993 slam-dunk champion, has missed the past five games while nursing injuries to his right knee and lower back.

The 6-foot-6 Houston, the 11th overall pick of the 1993 NBA draft out of Tennessee, joins Shawn Kemp of Seattle, James Robinson of Portland, Robert Pack of Denver, Antonio Davis of Indiana and Isiah Rider of Minnesota in the six-man field.
