Gant won't be charged

VICTORIA, Texas -- A Victoria County grand jury Wednesday declined to charge Atlanta Braves outfielder Ron Gant with sexual assault.

Two teenage girls alleged they the had intercourse with Gant, a native of Victoria, and his friend Steven Gaskin. The two men were not charged after four days of testimony before the grand jury.

Gant, who broke his leg in a motorcycle accident last weekend, is entering his seventh season with the Braves. The 28-year-old leftfielder hit .274 with 36 homers and 117 RBI and stole 26 bases for Atlanta in 1993.
