Arizona 119, Michigan 95

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Khalid Reeves netted a career-high 40 points Thursday night to lead 12th-ranked Arizona to a 119-95 rout of seventh- ranked Michigan in the Fiesta Bowl basketball classic's championship game.

Ray Owes added 21 points and Damon Stoudamire had 12 as the Wildcats improved to 10-1.

Juwan Howard led Michigan, which lost for only the second time in nine games, with 18 points. Jimmy King scored 14 and Jalen Rose had 12 for Michigan, but Rose was shutout in the second half.

Reeves, the Tournament MVP, was 13-of-14 from the field, including 3- of-4 from three-point range, and 11-of-12 from the foul line.

Arizona, which nursed a two-point lead midway through the first half, rallied for a 54-38 lead at the half. Reeves had 22 points in the first half.

Arizona scored the second half's first 10 points, blowing the game open as the Wolverines missed their first five field goal attempts.

The Wildcats are now 18-0 in the tournament's nine-year history.
