No. 9 Miami 41, Memphis St. 17

MIAMI -- Ryan Collins threw for three touchdowns and ran for another score Saturday night as ninth-ranked Miami tied the NCAA record for consecutive home wins with a 41-17 victory over Memphis State.

The Hurricanes erased an early 7-6 deficit with a pair of second- quarter touchdowns and went on to their 57th straight victory at the Orange Bowl, tying Alabama for the longest home winning streak.

The Crimson Tide won 57 in a row at home from 1963 to 1982. Miami (9- 2) has not lost at home since Sept. 7, 1985, against Florida.

Collins scooted 22 yards for a touchdown, then completed a conversion to A.C. Tellison to give the Hurricanes a 14-7 lead with eight minutes left in the first half. Collins completed 32 of 54 passes for a career- high 392 yards. Memphis State finished its regular season 6-5.
