Lifeguard: Father yelled at Erik Menendez

LOS ANGELES -- The defense in the murder trial of two brothers accused of killing their wealthy Beverly Hills parents called another witness Friday to bolster their contention the father put enormous pressure on the boys.

A former country club lifeguard who supervised Erik and Lyle Menendez testified that Jose and Kitty Menendez were not supportive of Erik.

Meredith Geisler told jurors that Jose Menendez 'would run up and down the length of the pool yelling at him to swim harder' during meets at a New Jersey country club.

Geisler and a former tennis pro told jurors they believed Erik, 22, and Lyle, 25, were controlled by their domineering father.

The brothers admit killing their parents in their $4 million mansion, but contend it was in fear for their lives after a lifetime of mental and sexual abuse by their father.

Prosecutors claim the brothers killed their parents to inherit their $14 million estate.

During a break in testimony, a man on Lyle's jury was replaced by a female alternate juror. Judge Stanley Weisberg did not explain why the juror was dismissed.
