UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Val Barnes missed just one shot and scored 33 points Monday night to propel 16th-ranked Iowa to a 74-58 victory over Penn State.
Barnes shot 11 of 12 from the field, including six of six 3-pointers, and made all five of his free throws.
The game, the first between the two schools since 1961, was rescheduled from Jan. 23 after the death of Iowa's Chris Street.
Acie Earl had 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Hawkeyes won their third straight to improve to 17-6 and 6-5 in the Big Ten.
John Amaechi scored 17 points for the Nittany Lions, who have lost 10 straight games to fall to 6-16 and 1-12. Rashaan Carlton had 13 points for the Penn State, which just just 37 percent from the field.
