Hornets 127, 76ers 119

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Newly acquired David Wingate scored 23 points and Dell Curry added 22 Tuesday night to lead the Charlotte Hornets to their fourth straight win, 127-119 over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Hornets trailed 62-57 at halftime but outscored the 76ers 38-25 in the third quarter to take a 95-87 advantage.

Wingate, 28, who was released by Washington during the offseason, was signed by Charlotte last Wednesday, when the Hornets placed starting small forward Johnny Newman on the injured list with a broken bone in his left hand. He went 10 of 11 from the field and had nine assists.

Hersey Hawkins had 24 points and Jeff Hornacek added 23 to pace Philadelphia, which had won two straight games and three of its last four.
