MILWAUKEE -- The apartment building where serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer killed most of his victims will be torn down with days, but not everyone is happy about it.
Campus Circle, a development effort organized by Marquette University, bought the Oxford apartment building in August and announced it would be razed and the lot would turned into a park.
Campus Circle spokeswoman Sandy Hintz says the building will be demolished early in the week. The last remaining tenants moved out of the building last week.
Carla Blacher, who lives in a neighboring apartment building, disagrees with the demolition. She said the building should be used as a home for poor people.
'People need homes. It's getting cold out here and there's people with no place to go,' she said.
Relatives of Dahmer's victims and some public officials have called for the demolition to rid the city of the reminder of Dahmer.
