Stanford 27, Oregon St. 21

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Ellery Roberts scored two touchdowns and Glyn Milburn returned a punt 79 yards for a score Saturday, leading No. 16 Stanford to a 27-21 victory over Oregon State.

Eric Abrams kicked field goals of 49 and 44 yards for Stanford, 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the Pacific-10 Conference.

Oregon State guard Fletcher Keister added a 72-yard TD run on a fumblerooski. Instead of hiking the ball to the quarterback, the center purposely placed the ball on the ground, where Keister picked it up and ran for the score.

Quarterback Chad Paulson and J.J. Young added touchdown runs for Oregon State, 1-6-1 and 0-4-1 in Pac-10 play.
