East 14, West 13

TOKYO -- Kevin Turner dived over the top for the winning touchdown with just over three minutes remaining late Saturday, lifting the East to a 14-13 victory over the the West at the Tokyo Dome Japan Bowl.

The East trailed 13-0 heading into the last quarter, but Ohio State's Scottie Graham ran in from nine yards away to slice the deficit to 6.

Erick Anderson of Michigan intercepted Iowa's Matt Rodgerson the West's next possession, setting up the winning score.

Jeff Blake of East Carolina completed a 13-yard pass to Pat Evans, and runs by Graham, Siran Stacy and Willie McClendon helped bring the ball to the 1-yard line. Alabama's Turner then scored the tying TD and Carlos Huerta of Miami (Fla.) booted the extra point to provide the final margin.

The West scored its only touchdown when Brigham Young quarterback Ty Detmer ran in from the four. Joe Wood added a pair of field goals for the West.
