CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls ripped apart the New York Knicks in savage fashion Thursday night, recording the biggest playoff blowout in team history.
Michael Jordan scored 28 points and Scottie Pippen 25 to power the Bulls to a 126-85 romp. Chicago recorded 15 steals and forced 27 New York turnovers.

'There's not much to say about a game like that except we really turned the tide,' Bulls Coach Phil Jackson said. 'We had a sluggish start, which is natural. Our defense then turned it up.'
New York, never in the game after the first quarter, will get two days to regroup before Game 2, scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Cg xsa00008
