LOS ANGELES -- Loyola Marymount broke its own single-game scoring mark Saturday night in a 186-140 victory over U.S. International, spoiling the record 72-point performance of USIU's Kevin Bradshaw.

Bradshaw, among the nation's scoring leaders, hit 23 of 59 shots from the floor, including 7 of 22 three-pointers, and 19 of 23 free throws.

His 72 points broke the record for Division I players against Division I opponents set by Louisiana State's Pete Maravich with 69 points against Alabama in 1970.

Bradshaw's performance raised his scoring average to 33.9 points per game.

The Lions, 6-8, set the previous single-game record of 181 against USIU on Jan. 31, 1988. That game produced a combined scoring record of 331 points, which the same two teams missed Saturday by just five points.

Terrell Lowery led nine Lions in double figures with 34 points and 16 assists. Richard Petruska scored 28 points, Chris Knight 27 and Rahim Harris and Ross Richardson 24 each.

Issac Brown added 20 points for the Gulls, 1-16. Marc Tuite scored 15 points and Jeff Polinsky had 11.
