CHICAGO -- Glenn Davis hit his third home run of the day and added a three-run double Saturday to power the Houston Astros to a 12-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs and a sweep of their double-header.

Davis homered twice and Mike Scott pitched a nine-hitter to end a personal three-game losing streak in the first game, lifting the Astros to an 8-1 victory.

Davis, who had hit three home runs in his career at Wrigley Field prior to Saturday, was 6 for 9 with 9 RBI in the two games, and leads the Astros with 10 homers and 31 RBI. He had just 6 hits in 42 at-bats before the twinbill.

His three homers in the double-header tied a club record set by Roman Mejias on May 6, 1962, against the Milwaukee Braves.

Jim Deshaies, 2-2, picked up the win in Game 2, allowing six hits over 5 2-3 innings, striking out five. It was his first win in seven starts. Larry Andersen worked 3 1-3 innings for his second save.

The Cubs now have lost four straight.

Greg Maddux, 4-4, was roughed up in Game 2, giving up nine hits and five runs over four plus innings.

In the second game, the Astros opened a 3-0 lead in the first on Franklin Stubbs' RBI single and Eric Anthony's two-run double.

Houston made it 4-0 in the second. Eric Yelding reached second on a fielding error by third baseman Curtis Wilkerson, then scored on Doran's single. Pinch hitter Glenn Wilson's sacrifice fly in the fifth opened a 5-0 lead.

Davis hit home run No. 10 on the first pitch from reliever Jeff Pico in the seventh, and Wilson, who stayed in the game in left, followed with his third home run, which landed on Waveland Avenue.

The Astros loaded the bases in the eighth and Davis cleared them with a double to left, his second double of the game.

Houston added a pair of runs in the ninth on an Alex Trevino RBI double and Yelding's run-scoring single.

The Cubs added two runs in the ninth on an RBI triple by Doug Dascenzo and a run-scoring by Joe Girardi.

Scott, 2-5, went the distance in Game 1, the only complete game by a Houston pitcher this season, and ended a personal three-game losing skid.

Rookie Shawn Boskie, 1-1, was the loser in Game 1, going seven innings in his second major league start.

Scott recorded his first complete game since Sept. 9, 1989. The right-hander, who entered the game with a 6.33 ERA, gave up nine hits, struck out two and walked two.

In the opener, the Astros took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Bill Doran scored on a balk call against Boskie. The Cubs tied the game 1-1 on Andre Dawson's two-out RBI single in their half, driving in Ryne Sandberg who had doubled.

But the Astros opened a 2-1 lead in the second on Eric Yelding's two-out, RBI single, scoring Rafael Ramirez, and made it 4-1 in the fifth on Davis' eighth home run, a two-run shot.

Doran added an RBI double in the ninth and Davis hit his second homer of the game, a three-run smash to left, off reliever Bill Long for the final margin.

It was the first doubleheader between the two teams since July 7, 1979, when the Cubs swept a twinbill at Wrigley Field.
