NEW YORK -- One of the teenagers indicted for attacks on joggers during a rampage through Central Park has been arrested for possessing 43 bags of the drug 'angel dust' with intent to sell, police said Monday.

Michael Briscoe, 18, and another youth were arrested during a buy-and-bust operation Sunday afternoon.

The apartment is known for 'heavy traffic in PCP, commonly known as angel dust,' said police spokesman Ralph St. Just.

Briscoe and the second youth, Chevar Hall, 18, were found with 43 bags of the drug, St. Just said.

Each was charged with two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. If convicted, the maximum penalty is seven years in prison.

Briscoe was indicted for an attack on teacher John Loughlin who was bashed in the head as he jogged in Central Park last April. He was not accused in the rape and attempted murder of a woman jogger.

At the time of his arrest for the Central Park assault, Briscoe was on probation for robbery of a 14-year-old boy. He was freed on $5,000 cash bail on the assault charge and $1 for violation of probation. His bail was put up by the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Briscoe was among seven youths indicted in the two-hour 'wilding' incident through a moonlit Central Park. All the others were indicted for attacks on men joggers and the woman jogger. Their criminal trials were expected to begin next month.
