CASPER, Wyo -- Regald Slater totaled 18 points and 17 rebounds in leading Wyoming to a 69-51 victory over Cal State-Fullerton in the championship game of the Cowboy Shotout Saturday night.
The Cowboys grabbed an early lead over the cold-shooting Titans, who shot only 27 percent for the game from the field.
The Cowboys, who hled the Titans without a point for six minutes of the first half, led 34-20 at the break.
Wyoming continued to build its lead and led 52-25 with 11:28 left in the game to cruise to the tournament title.
Mark Hill had 19 points and Cedric Ceballos scored 18 points to lead the Titans, now 6-3.
Wyoming, 7-4, received 15 points from both Tim Breaux and Kenny Smith, while Quein Higgins had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Slater was named tournament MVP and grabbed a tournament-record 37 rebounds.
