OKLAHOMA CITY -- Tony Martin scored 27 points Saturday to lead the fifth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners to a 99-78 victory over Tulsa in the championship game of the All-College Tournament.
In the consolation game, Dwayne McCray scored 15 points to lead Arkansas State to a 71-66 victory over North Texas.
Oklahoma, 8-0, took a 47-32 lead in the first half but Tulsa made an 8-3 run before halftime to close the gap to 50-40 after 20 minutes.
Tulsa, 6-4, scored the first six points of the second half to close within 50-46 but tournament MVP Tony Martin scored six points to key a 16-3 run that gave the Sooners a 66-49 lead with 14:40 remaining.
In the first game, Barry Mayberry scored 13 and Greg Williams added 10 for Arkansas State. Ronnie Morgan scored 13 and Ray Schufford had 11 for the Eagles, who remained winless at 0-13.
Arkansas State, 8-2, led 46-41 early in the second half, but North Texas took a 47-46 lead on fast-break baskets by Pat Hutchins and Gerald Gales. Arkansas State took the lead for good, 66-64, late in the game on McCray's reverse layup.
The Eagles held a 10-8 lead in the first half before McCray sparked a rally that gave Arkansas State a 23-16 advantage. North Texas came back and tied the score 37-37 at halftime.
