PORTLAND, Ore. -- Anthony Dade scored six of his game-high 21 points in the first four minutes as Louisiana Tech built an early lead and rolled over Illinois State, 90-69, giving the Bulldogs third place in the 34th Fred Meyer Far West Classic Saturday.
Louisiana Tech, which lost to Oregon State by one point in the semifinals Friday, improved their record to 9-2.
The Redbirds, 5-5, fell behind 16-3 and never recovered.
After trailing 43-28 at half, ISU managed to cut the deficit to 49-39 but never got any closer.
Louisiana Tech then pulled away, leading by as many as 26 at 84-58 with 5:01 remaining.
Eldon Bowman scored 13 for the Bulldogs and P. J. Brown added 12.
Rickey Jackson led the Redbirds with 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Sonny Roberts added 10 points.
