ALBANY, N.Y. -- Heavyweight boxing champ 'Iron Mike' Tyson apparently can't control his lead foot.

Tyson was stopped for speeding at mid-morning Friday by Albany police for the second time in 10 days.

Police said Tyson was not clocked in his 1989 white Lamborghini but he was traveling at a speed 'greater than is reasonable and prudent under conditions of the law.'

He was apparently racing a Clinton Park man driving a 1988 Toyota and the pair almost caused an accident on a main street in the city's downtown section, police said.

Tyson, 22, and the other driver, Jason Knell, 18, were scheduled to appear in court May 23.

Tyson was also scheduled in Albany's traffic court next Tuesday for drag racing April 26 in downtown Albany.

In that incident he was drag racing a Chevy Blazer driven by Mark Johnson, 22, of Albany, police said. He was clocked doing 71 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Both incidents occurred on Central Ave. in the same vicinity of the city, police said.

Albany police spokesman Robert Wolfgang said there was no alcohol involved in either incident.

Tyson's Lamborghini is a high-performance, Italian-made car worth at least $100,000.

Tyson lists a Catskill address as his residence but he has friends in Albany and spends much of his time there.
