ATLANTA -- Reggie Theus scored 30 points Wednesday night to send the Atlanta Hawks to a 135-93 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers that tied a franchise record for a 42-point margin of victory.

Atlanta jumped to an 18-2 lead early in the game and never trailed.

The Hawks led by 41 points at 78-37 at halftime and were on top by 48 points three different times late in the third quarter.

The Hawks built their lead to as many as 50 points at 130-80 when Antoine Carr hit a technical free throw with 2:53 remaining in the game.

Atlanta, now 44-29, got 25 points from Moses Malone while Dominique Wilkins and John Battle scored 19 each. The Hawks shot 65 percent from the floor while Philadelphia managed only 44 percent as they snapped a four-game winning streak.

Philadelphia, 41-32, got 18 points apiece from Charles Barkley and Ron Anderson, but the 76ers were outrebounded 45-34.
