HOUSTON -- Baker Hughes Inc. Monday announced it has acquired Vetco Services from Combustion Engineering of Stamford, Conn.
Terms of the deal were withheld, but Baker Hughes bought all the capital stock of the entities comprising Vetco Services, which tests oil field pipes primarily located outside the United States.
'We are extremely pleased to add this premier service to our company,' said J.D. Woods, Baker Hughes chairman and chief operating officer. 'As a technical leader in its field, Vetco Services fills our criteria for quality performance.
'It's addition also increases our worldwide market share to one of leadership in the oil country tubular goods inspection business,' he said.
Baker Hughes is a leading provider of products and services to the oil, gas, mining and other industries.
