-- Directed and co-written by David Mamet, and starring Don Ameche and Joe Mantegna, 'Things Change' is like the careful telling of a sly and spirited joke.

Everything builds slowly, and the telling is as important as the punch line. Ameche is surely the star of this funny and moving film, but his wise and witty performance is admirably supported not only by Mantegna, but by an array of mobsters portrayed by veterans including Robert Prosky, Mike Nussbaum, J.J. Johnston, Jack Wallace and W.H. Macy. Rated PG.
