CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Tournament MVP Ric Blevins scored 17 points and Harold Walton added 16 Friday night to pace Kent State to an 82-70 victory over Tennessee-Chattanooga for the championship of the Coca-Cola Classic.

Reggie Adams made a 10-foot baseline jumper with 14:17 left in the first half to give the Golden Flashes the lead for good, 13-12.

The Moccasins, 5-7, closed to 58-56 with 4:31 to play. Tony Walton hit a 16-foot jumper and Kent State, 6-4, pulled away.

Chris Behrends scored 19 points for the Moccasins and Benny Green had 17.

In the consolation game, Andy Kennedy generated 20 points and Reggie Turner chipped in 18 to help Alabama-Birmingham rout Tennessee State 86-54.

A Larry Rembert dunk gave UAB, 8-3, a 42-41 lead and the Blazers never trailed again. The Tigers fell to 1-8.
