LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Terry Norris of San Diego stopped Steve Little, of Redding, Pa., at 1:07 of the sixth round Friday to capture the vacant North American Boxing Federation super welterweight championship.

Norris, who dominated from the opening bell, knocked down Little with a right to the head, prompting referee Carlos Padilla to end the one-sided bout, which was scheduled for 12 rounds.

Norris, ranked No. 6 by the International Boxing Federation, improved to 19-2 with 12 knockouts. Little slipped to 16-9-1 with four knockouts.

In another bout, super-bantamweight Pedro Decima of Argentina halted former U.S. Olympian Robert Shannon, of Lynnwood, Wash., by TKO after four rounds.

Decima, ranked No. 10 by the IBF, is 20-2 with 15 knockouts. Shannon, a member of the Olympic team in 1980 and 1984, slipped to 16-4-2 with eight knockouts.

The fights took place at Caesars Palace.
