NFL Training Camp Roundup

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs announced that veteran defensive lineman Ray Woodard has retired and rookie wide receiver Anthony Robinson has been placed on waivers.

Woodard, 26, was signed by the Chiefs as a free agent in November 1987 and played in the final six games of the season.

A two-year veteran from Texas, he played in three replacement games with the Denver Broncos during last season's players strike.

The 6-6, 285-pound native of Lufkin, Texas, spent the 1986 season on the Broncos injured reserve list and attended training camp in 1984 and 1985 with the San Diego Chargers.

Robinson, 22, joined the Chiefs this year as an undrafted rookie from Elizabeth City State. He did not see any action in the Chiefs' preseason opener Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The moves leave the Chiefs with 90 players on their active roster.
