HALL WINS IN COURT:

An appeals court ruled that Daryl Hall, half of the Hall and Oates singing duo, will not have to pay more than $1,000 per month in support for his illegitimate son in Duluth, Minn.

Andrea Zabloski, 24, had sought $10,000 per month for Darren, who Hall acknowledges is his son, for items that included a $9,000 piano. But an appeals court upheld a judge's earlier ruling that limited the payments to $1,000 -- the normal ceiling for child support in Minnesota - despite's Hall's $1.4 million annual income. Hall, 40, had said he lives frugally on his 160-acre estate in Millbrook, N.Y., and argued that he wants his son to grow up similarly -- without expensive music lessons and tutoring.
