MINNEAPOLIS -- Dino Ciccarelli of the Minnesota North Stars has been charged with indecent exposure. His attorney says he will plead not guilty.
The complaint was filed Monday in Hennepin County District Court, accusing the 27-year-old right wing of exposing himself three times in the past two months to a neighbor woman and her son.
The alleged incidents took place near his home in Eden Prairie, a Minneapolis suburb.
Ciccarelli, who lives with his wife and two daughters, was arrested Wednesday after a police officer said he saw Ciccarelli in the driveway half-naked. Officers said they took pictures of the incident.
Charged with two misdemeanor counts, the player is to appear in court Dec. 11.
Attorney Rod Simon said Ciccarelli maintains he was investigating a noise outside his home and was covering himself with his hand, not fondling himself as the complaint suggests.
'He does admit that he frequently walks around the house in a nude or semi-nude state,' said Simon, adding Ciccarelli has never fondled himself in public.
'The biggest problem is that the complaints suggests he's some kind of sexual pervert or deviant,' the attorney said. 'These are only allegations, and they have to be proved.'
