MILWAUKEE -- Terry Cummings scored 28 points and Jack Sikma added 23 Sunday night to pace the Milwaukee Bucks to a 112-103 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Kevin Willis led Atlanta with 21 points and Glenn Rivers contributed 20. Dominique Wilkins, the league's seventh-leading scorer with a 27-point average entering the game, was held to 7 points.

Paul Pressey scored 10 points in the final quarter as Milwaukee allowed Atlanta to tie the score before opening a 107-97 lead with 1:12 left.

Atlanta had trailed most of the first three quarters, but pieced together an 11-3 scoring run to tie Milwaukee 81-81 with 11:32 remaining. Antoine Carr scored 7 points, including a 3-point play, and Spud Webb and John Battle added baskets in the stretch.

But Milwaukee rallied to a 103-94 advantage with 3:48 left. Ahead by 2, Sikma hit a jumper and John Lucas followed with a 3-pointer to take a 99-92 lead.

The teams traded baskets until the final minute, when Lucas and Pressey each hit a pair of free throws to secure the victory.

Milwaukee held the biggest lead of the first half following an 11-2 spurt that gave it a 62-49 lead with 2:06 left. Sikma, who had 10 points in the second quarter, sank a pair of free throws to start the run and lift the Bucks to a 53-47 advantage.

But Atlanta scored 6 of the half's final 7 points to cut Milwaukee's halftime lead to 63-55. Battle entered the game with an 8.8 scoring average, but led Atlanta with 12 points in the half, including 10 in the second quarter.

Cummings sparked Milwaukee with 13 first-half points and 10 in the first quarter, which ended with Milwaukee leading 30-24. The Bucks shot only 43.4 percent in their five previous games from the floor, but made 63.4 percent of their shots in the half.
