Starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze, 'Dirty Dancing' is an upbeat romance and dance movie, ala 'Saturday Night Fever.'
It takes place over the summer of 1963 and revolves around the coming-of-age of a bright, big-hearted teenager played by Grey. She falls in love with the dance teacher (Swayze) at a Catskills summer resort, and in doing so, teaches him something about idealism. He teaches her about growing up and having the courage of her convictions. It's a sweet, lyrical movie with plenty of musical nostalgia. But more importantly, 'Dirty Dancing' has an uplifting message of hope that can be found only in the dreams of the young. Rated PG-13.
