Idaho raises minimum drinking age

BOISE, Idaho -- Gov. Cecil Andrus signed into law a bill raising Idaho's minimum drinking age from 19 to 21, effective April 10.

The law also provides that those who turn 19 years old by April 10 will be allowed to continue drinking in Idaho.

Federal law requires states to raise their drinking ages to 21 or risk losing millions of dollars in highway funds.
