LOS ANGELES -- Marques Johnson, who suffered a career-threatening neck injury last November, postponed surgery Friday, the Los Angeles Clippers announced.
The team said Johnson gave no reason for delaying indefinitely the spinal-fision operation. Johnson, 31, ruptured a cervical disc when his head slammed into the midsection of center Benoit Benjamin in a Nov. 20 game against Dallas.
The Clippers claim Johnson is permanently disabled and have stopped payments on his $1.3 million salary.
