TULSA, Okla. -- Facet Enterprises, Inc. said Wednesday it will consolidate the headquarters of Purolator Products, Inc. with the headquarters of Facet Automotive Filter Co. in Tulsa.
Facet on Tuesday acquired Purolator Products, located in Edison, N.J., from Purolator Courier Corp.
About 140 Purolator employees are now in Edison. Facet officials said they have not determined the exact number of new positions that will be available in Tulsa as a result of the move.
Purolator Products employs about 1,400 in the United States and Canada.
Purolator's automotive air, oil and fuel filter manufacturing operations in Fayetteville, N.C. and Mississauga, Ontario, will not be affected by the move, Facet officials said.
'This is the first step in the transition, consolidation and integration of Purolator into Facet,' said James R. Malone, Facet's president and chief executive officer.
Malone said the consolidation will eliminate duplication, provide a central location and save money for the company.
Facet manufactures and markets filters, filtration systems, transportation components and oil field production equipment and supplies.
