Marie Osmond marries record producer

WEST JORDAN, Utah -- Singer Marie Osmond married record producer Brian Blosil in a private ceremony Tuesday in the Mormon Church's Jordan River Temple, a year after her divorce from a Brigham Young University basketball star.

The ceremony was attended only by immediate family, said a spokeswoman for the Osmonds, Mary Anne Murray.

After a wedding breakfast at a Salt Lake City restaurant, Osmond, 27, and Blosil, 33, left on a honeymoon at an undisclosed location.

'Marie wore a full-length white gown with a high neck and full sleeves, featuring delicate sequins and pearls,' Murray said.

The entertainer will be back at work by Friday, when she is scheduled to sing at Gilley's nightclub in Pasadena, Texas, Murray said.

Osmond, who starred on a television variety show with her brother Donny, has a 3-year-old son from her previous marriage to former Brigham Young basketball star Steve Craig.

Osmond married Craig in a highly publicized wedding in the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City in 1982. Osmond was granted a divorce in October of 1985 and it became final six months later.

Osmond had filed for the divorce, accusing her husband of 'mental cruelty,' the least serious grounds for divorce under Utah law. She was awarded custody of the couple's son.

The singer's engagement to Blosil was announced the end of September. But the couple's wedding date was kept secret, apparently to avoid publicity.

Osmond recently won the Country Music Association's vocal duo of the year award with Dan Seals for their No. 1 hit 'Meet Me in Montana.'

Blosil is a record producer in Provo, where the couple plan to live. The marriage was performed by Paul H. Dunn, a member of the Mormon Church's First Quorum of the Seventy, and a family friend.
