HARMON JOINING VICE?

By WILLIAM C. TROTT, United Press International

Mark Harmon is ready to slip behind the wheel of that black 'Miami Vice' Ferrari if Don Johnson doesn't end his salary holdout soon, an NBC official says. Johnson was missing in action from the 'Vice' set when shooting started this week for the show's third season.

If he's not back by the end of next week Harmon, formerly of 'St. Elsewhere' and soon to marry actress Pam Dawber, probably would slide in as a new character, an unnamed NBC official told the Miami News. This would allow Johnson to return to his Sonny Crockett role once the salary dispute is settled. 'We're not going to let Johnson wreck the show,' the NBC official said. 'We have Harmon in line and ready to go.' Johnson made about $30,000 per episode last year and reportedly wants more than $100,000 per show for this season.
