SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- Larry Keating, athletic director at Adelphi University for six years, was named to the same post Tuesday at Seton Hall.
Keating, 41, replaces Richard Regan, who last month was named executive director of the school's athletic fund.
'Larry was the unanimous selection of the Athletic Committee,' said John Petillo, Seton Hall's chancellor. 'He possesses the creative and entrepreneurial skills needed at this stage of Seton Hall University's athletic endeavors.'
Seton Hall, a member of the Big East Conference, has broken ground for a new $9.5 million recreation center.
A graduate of Stonehill College in North Easton, Mass., Keating has also worked at Hofstra University.
'The University's commitment to the athletic program will present a great challenge for myself and the staff,' Keating said. 'But we have every intention of making Seton Hall University's athletic program one of the finest in the country.'
