SAN DIMAS, Calif. -- The body of an 8-year-old girl was found floating near a wave-making machine at the Raging Waters amusement park Sunday, authorities said.
Sharon Renee Williams, of Pomona, was spending the day at the park with her father, Larry Williams, when she disappeared in a swimming attraction called 'Wave Cove,' said Sheriff's Deputy Joe Garza.

Lifeguards cleared the area and after a brief search, found the girl's body floating near the wave-making machine, Garza said.
She was rushed to San Dimas Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead, an apparent drowning victim.
The park contains several water-related activities, including rafting and water slides, in addition to the wave pool.
