Tyrone 'Butterfly' Crawley outpointed Charlie 'Choo Choo' Brown Wednesday...

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Tyrone 'Butterfly' Crawley outpointed Charlie 'Choo Choo' Brown Wednesday night in a narrow 12-round majority decision to capture the vacant U.S. Boxing Association lightweight title.

Both fighters are from Philadelphia and both weighed 135 pounds.

Crawley, 19-1 with six knockouts, is the World Boxing Association's No. 1 lightweight contender. Brown fell to 24-5-2 with 17 knockouts.

Judge Richard F. Murry scored the fight 115-115, a draw. Judge Carol Castellano had it 115-113, Crawley and Judge Frank Brunette made it 116-112, Crawley.

Crawley had a half-inch cut outside his left eyebrow that trickled blood from the sixth round on. There were no knockdowns and no standing eight counts.

Crawley is due to fight WBA lightweight champion Livingstone Bramble this fall.
